Emotive melodies on a southern breeze
We made reservations to see the BonTaj Roulet show in Atlanta rather blindly. Little understanding had we from Naples, FL of what we were about to experience.
Imagine a structure set the stage: the Chastain Amphitheatre, built into a natural bowl shaped spot in Atlanta's Buckhead community. Built in 1944 by our citizens for the public good - and public good was done, brothers and sisters!
Guests are allowed to come to the site with picnic baskets in hand. Bring silver and tray tables, wine glasses and libations, oh heck. Fill the night with sounds of wine glasses toasting good times, fill the air with the sumptuous aromas of Mamas' home cooking!
Add the inimitable Taj Mahal and Third Day alone and together, as the play bill boasts. Hear our nations' most appreciated blues chanteuse, Bonnie Railtt reminisce of the days when "Outside Man" was written and produced. Know you're welcoming old friends who are visiting, bringing the best gifts of their harvests!
Thanks to Bonnie, Taj and their combined musical associates. A nice couple of horns just darned if didn't make things perfect!
